What is counselling?
It can be daunting reaching out to someone that you do not know. I offer clients a free 30-minute session so that we can get to know each other and see if we feel comfortable working together. If you feel that we are a good fit, then we would agree to meet at a mutually convenient time each week, to work through any issues that you would like to discuss. I believe that by working together, I can support you through any difficulties that you are experiencing, giving you the autonomy to make changes to your life when you feel ready.
What to expect?
Sometimes in life the challenges, crossroads, and situations we find ourselves in seem confusing and overwhelming and it is difficult to know which way to turn. We begin to question ourselves and feelings of doubt and confusion can start to creep in creating anxiety and sometimes even despair. I use a variety of tools to help you navigate these feelings of doubt and confusion which can give you new skills to use as you start to learn about yourself, your thought process and your patterns of relating to other people. With the right tools and newfound self-awareness, you will be able to feel more in control of your life and will feel more able to navigate the challenges, cross roads and situations that we sometimes find ourselves in.
It can sometimes take time to find the root cause of a problem, or it can be a combination of many different factors, but if you are willing to work with me, we can work collaboratively at your pace, to find an outcome that you are happy with. Change does not happen on its own, sometimes we just need a non-judgmental person to listen, to walk alongside us, allowing us to gain the skills to help ourselves.
